Become a Scholarship Recipient

Each year, USC Upstate awards two rising sophomores with a $1,000 Josh Lee Memorial Scholarship. The award is renewed for the remainder of the recipients’ undergraduate career as long as he or she maintains a 3.O GPA and is in good standing at the University. The Josh Lee Memorial Scholarship was established by Josh Lee’s family in November 2015 and is funded by the proceeds of the annual Josh Lee Memorial 5K.

Support the Endowment

The Josh Lee Memorial Scholarship is a tribute to a young man who lived his life lifting others up - in thought, word and deed. When Johnny and Laurie Lee learned of the death of their son, Josh, they chose to turn their tragedy into an opportunity to honor his example of kindness and compassion and to celebrate his love of sports. Today, the scholarship they established in Josh’s name, is the largest endowed fund supporting student athletes at USC Upstate.
